Architectural Ecology
Flat Iron Mesa Ranch
San Juan County, Utah
We begin each architectural project by investigating the unique environmental conditions of each building site, with the development of flexible and adaptable strategies of design that maintain a consistent focus on environmental improvement and sustainability of the building property and surrounding site's ecology for variations to its features of scale, its rhythms of light, and its well-being qualities including natural earthly vibrations to enhance each project's life-style design. The research in these areas emphasize two basic scales of basic scales of architectural ecology: building and landscape.
Permaculture Design is an ecological bridge between building and landscape, and might be incorporated in the projects research as a system of agricultural and social design principles centered on simulating or directly utilizing the patterns and features observed in natural ecosystems on the building site.
